Transferring Lifelink from MTG to this Clash Royale format has got it’s complexities – initially balancing. Having lifelink troops simply heal the king tower was either going to feel underpowered or allow stall tactics to run rampant, making it really hard for players to finish off the match, and make it by far the dominant strategy. My theoretical compromise has been that instead of healing the king tower, lifelink simply heals the closest allied troop (and for 1/4 of damage dealt to prevent the ability from being overpowered) however while working on implementing a card, it’s come to my attention that abilities that are activated by you (your king tower) gaining life won’t be activated by lifelink under the current conditions, which would destroy a lot of potential synergies. My solution would be to give the king tower a tiny bit of health every time lifelink activates, so perhaps that is an option I need to consider. Either way, I need to re-work lifelink.
